Touring with and singing in his family band from age four, Luke took up the fiddle at seven. He won the National Fiddle Contest six times in his respective age categories, with his seventh win in the Grand Champion division at age sixteen, making him the youngest to have earned the title at the time. Luke has played and recorded with Ricky Skaggs, Lyle Lovett, Brandi Carlile, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Bryan Sutton, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Shawn Colvin, Tony Rice, Chris Thile, and Earl Scruggs, to name a few.

Award-winning songwriters Beth Falcone and Ritt Henn serve up a bevy of original and originally arranged holiday songs from around the globe to see you safely through the season. Mike Block Trio, featuring Joe K. Walsh (mandolin/vocals) and Zachariah Hickman (bass/vocals), is led by cello player, singer, and composer, Mike Block,  who has been hailed as “one of the bravest, most intriguing musicians on the American fusion scene” by Gramophone Magazine.  The trio fertilizes American roots music with contemporary and international influences, bringing an exciting and personal perspective to the acoustic music scene.

Rosier on March 6th

Montréal based band ROSIER – formerly known as LES POULES À COLIN – will make their first appearance at a Jenkins House Concert on Friday, March 6th. This extraordinary band pushes further exploration of the connections between Québec folk and the mix of indie, jazz, pop, bluegrass and contemporary styles. The group’s five members immerse us in their universe through original compositions, sophisticated arrangements, harmonic progressions and reinvented traditions. The bilingual band injects exuberant colour into folk traditions, taking the its roots and spinning this foundation into a movement. The result is a mature, well-controlled music filled with emotion and a surprising freshness that is relevant in today’s shifting climates. The band has created a layered sound that connects generations through origin and craft, reclaiming and interpreting the romantic traditions of Québécois folk through a modern lens.

Rosier's members are: frontwoman Béatrix Méthé (lead vocals, violin), Colin Savoie-Levac (lap steel, banjo and foot percussion), Sarah Marchand (lead vocals and keys), Éléonore Pitre (acoustic and electric guitars) and Marie Savoie-Levac (electric bass).

The Bee Eaters with Sean Watkins on February 28th

Sean Watkins co-founded Nickel Creek when he was just 12 years old, kickstarting a career that’s taken him from the stage of the Grammys to the top of the bluegrass charts. Jeremy Kittel Trio on January 11, 2020

Jeremy Kittel has earned the reputation as one of the most versatile and dynamic fiddlers of his generation. A fellow New Yorker, this is Jeremy’s fourth appearance at a Jenkins’ House Concert on the Upper West Side. He will appear with his trio, a precocious ensemble of musicians with whom he is collaborating to present his original compositions. This trio includes: Jeremy Kittel, violin/fiddle, Joshua Pinkham, mandolin, and Quinn Bachand, guitar. Be prepared for sophisticated rhythmic interplay, ingenious tonal flexibility and jaw dropping  technique, both from the players as individuals and The Jeremy Kittel Trio as a whole.

Molsky's Mountain Drifters on Friday, December 6

The Jenkins House Concert series is happy to welcome back Bruce Molsky's trio, Molsky's Mountain Drifters, on Friday, December 6, 2019. Bruce Molsky, “one of America’s premier fiddling talents” (Mother Jones) and Grammy-nominated artist on fiddle, banjo, guitar and voice is delighted to present his touring group featuring Allison de Groot and Stash Wylouch, Together they combine wide ranging virtuosity and passion for old-tyme music. Allison loves collaborating and bringing new ideas to the music and a fresh approach to the trio. Stash Wyslouch is one of bluegrass’ great young genre-bending pioneers. He got his start as a guitarist in metal bands before immersing himself in roots music as a member of The Deadly Gentlemen. Crossing over from the punk-metal world, Stash brings great sensitivity and real emotion to the trio, plus some superb guitar and vocal chops. We hope you'll join us to hear the collaboration of these three fine players!

Mike Block, cellist, to perform on October 26th

We are so pleased to welcome Mike Block back to our concert series. Mike, hailed by Yo-Yo Ma as the "ideal musician of the 21st Century", is a pioneering multi-style cellist, composer, and educator living in Boston with his wife, violinist, Hanneke Cassel and their young daughter. While studying at the Juilliard School, Mike joined Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble, and shortly thereafter also joined Mark O'Connor's Appalachia Waltz Trio, which he played in for over three years. Mike has also toured extensively with Darol Anger's Republic of Strings and The Knights orchestra. Mike is Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He also joined the faculty of New England Conservatory through the Contemporary Improvisation program. He is also the founder of the Mike Block String Camp in Vero Beach, Florida, which is dedicated to the education of young string players. Mike has recently released,“It’s Time to Dance”, a new album of original pop/rock songs! which will be available the night of the concert.

Genticorum to open our 17th season on September 21

We are very excited to welcome Genticorum, a French Canadian power trio whose guitarist/vocalist, Yann Falquet, performed here last May with his wife, Natalie Haas, in the DuoDuo Quartet. The other two members are Nicholas Williams, wooden flute and accordion, and Pascal Gemme, fiddle and vocals. Energetic, charismatic and irresistible, they weave precise and intricate compositions, both original and traditional, tight vocal harmonies and energetic foot percussion into a jubilant musical feast. Duo Duo on Thursday, May 9

Duo Duo is well worth the wait! All four of these amazing musicians have appeared at a Jenkins House Concert on separate occasions. They have joined musical forces and will appear here on Thursday, May 9th. Michigan-born percussive dancer Nic Gareiss and Edinburgh harpist Maeve Gilchrist met while teaching at the Shasta Fiddle Summit in Northern California. The percussion and drive of Nic's footwork combined with Maeve's melodic and improvisational sensibilities make for an explosive duo which captivates both the ears and the eyes. Natalie Haas is one of the most sought-after cellists in Celtic music today. She and Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser have toured as a duo for 18 years, including a stop at our house just one year ago. Montrealer Yann Falquet is one of the most creative acoustic guitarists in today's Québécois music scene. Over the last fifteen years, he has recorded five albums and toured the world with French Canadian power trio Genticorum, who will appear here in September. This husband and wife team have been performing a mix of Québécois traditional songs and new takes on folk music.

The DuoDuo Quartet presents an unforgettable night of music, song, and dance, featuring all four of these innovators and masters of their respective traditions and instruments.

Suzy Williams, "LA's Diva Deluxe" on March 9

Suzy Williams is a singer-songwriter from Venice, California. She has been declared "LA's Diva Deluxe" by the Los Angeles Weekly, and "the Songbird of Venice" by the Venice Beachhead newspaper. Suzy is known for her "enormously amusing, endearing presence ... with tough, belting authority" (John Rockwell, New York Times) as well as her voice that is “vibrant and lusty ... great gusto and bold emotion" (Nat Hentoff, Cosmopolitan) and her "energy must be seen to be believed ... a natural performer" (Robert Palmer, New York Times).

Rich Jenkins, co-producer of the Jenkins House Concerts, is a consummate pianist and working musician from New York City. He has worked with Suzy at The Sweet Chariot Music Festival on Swan’s Island, Maine for the past 18 years. Rich has mastered thousands of songs throughout his career, playing and singing in hotels and other piano rooms across the city, including The St. Regis Hotel, Mario Batali’s Del Posto and his personal favorite, Central Park's Boat House.

The Jenkins House Concerts welcomes The Alexis Cole Trio, featuring Jazz singer, Alexis Cole on piano and vocals, Steve La Spina on acoustic bass and Kenny Hassler on drums. A departure from our usual Americana style concert series, you will be delighted by the level of The Alexis Cole Trio's musicianship and improvisational skill. This is a rare opportunity to hear timeless standard songs sung by an outstanding singer who is supported by two other jazz greats- all in an intimate setting.

Choro das 3 on Saturday, November 10th

Choro das 3 is a Brazilian instrumental group of three sisters and their father that first started to play as a band in 2003. Corina, plays flute and piccolo. Lia, plays 7- string guitar. Elisa, plays mandolin, banjo, clarinet and piano. Their father, Eduardo, plays pandeiro (the Brazilian tambourine). In the last ten years, Choro das 3 has played Choro to many audiences, including some who had not heard Choro before. Choro, like American jazz, has many influences including the Samba and the Bossa Nova.
